The mission of the Intercultural Center at UNC Asheville is to create an inclusive and culturally diverse environment on campus while providing academic, co-curricular, and outreach services for underrepresented students. At the Intercultural Center, students can identify campus allies and advocates.
The Intercultural Center aims to help UNC Asheville recruit, retain, and support students of color. Thus, we reinforce the university's mission of bringing together faculty, students, and staff of diverse cultural backgrounds to interact closely in a supportive community.
Multicultural Affairs organizes and promotes diverse events such as lectures, concerts, conferences, leadership workshops, educational/recreational trips, special programs, and career building experiences, which are inclusive and enlightening.
Cultural heritage months are celebrated in collaboration with respective student organizations. The department presents programming that helps all UNC Asheville students develop a clearer understanding of world views that impact their work and relationships.
